Reservoir District is finally here!

Located immediately north of the Bloomingdale Historic District, the McMlllan Sand Filtration Site has captured the imagination of the community, real estate developers, and city officials, for literally decades. I remember listing a house on the unit block of Channing Street NW around 2001, and using a mocked up photo of McMillan as a thriving new community.

Over the years, there has been controversy and disagreement as to the use of the site, so it is a long time coming that we are finally seeing the project come to fruition.

DC veteran developer and builder, EYA, is building 146 new construction townhomes. They have branded the new community "Reservoir District."

As is not unusual for new releases of EYA developments, upon opening recently, six buyers camped out to have the opportunity to be one of the first in line to reserve units. The folks who got the number one spot camped out for two nights!

EYA reports that there has been robust interest, and that the first phase is selling quickly. Their sales team noted that they are meeting a number of confident investor buyers, as well as folks connected with the expansion of the nearby hospital systems.

The new community will feature a state of the art DC community center, a six acre public park, and future shops and restaurants.

If you are curious about this community, or new construction in general, our team of agents is extremely well versed on the ins and outs. We would love to assist you!
